The first days in day care were not very easy--for my parents. My mother had spent nearly 4 months as a full-time mother and my dad would take any opportunity he had to spend the most time he could with me. However, for the first time in my nearly 4 months of life, I would have to be away from them for a good part of the day. The change was not that smooth and at times it was extremely difficult to adjust to the new routine. Fortunately, after a few weeks, we started to get used to it. My day care is not very far from my mom's school and the assurance that she can be with me within minutes has eased our concerns.
Yet, my going to day care also meant that I finally had my first cold as well as an ear problem that has followed me through my first year. Finally I had to undergo a minor surgery to have tubes put in my ears. Now things are much better and I seem to be recovering my hearing fast. In the meantime, I am developing resistance to face much more complicated things I might encounter later as I grow up.
